Typical activities covered on a residential camp are listed in the itinerary section of the website, however many more activities can be covered if requested. This will be negotiated before you camp takes place and Sunshine Creek Environmental Education Centre staff are always happy to develop new activities to suit the visiting school's requirements.

We also offer many outdoor adventure activities including orienteering, bushwalking, rogaining, canoeing, team building, low ropes and high ropes. These can all be included in the camp program.

Our high ropes course has recently been refurbished and can cater for five climbers at a time. Our elements include three tree climbs, a centipede, two crate stacks and a glider possum.

Examples of the various programs are linked below. If you have any further questions please contact us.

Curriculum delivery

The surrounding dry and wet sclerophyll forests and extensive national park provide an excellent site for curriculum delivery particularly suited to biological and historical perspectives.

In particular, the year five history curriculum is most suited to study at Sunday Creek, as students can experience the conditions endured by diggers and gold miners throughout the 1800’s first-hand. They can participate in gold panning, quartz crushing, and examining relics and ruins from times gone by.

Senior biology or geography students can study nearby forests, plant and animal adaptations and search for rare and endangered species such as the Conondale Spiny Crayfish or Eastern Bristle bird.

We also have extensive experience in creating specific programs according to school requests. These can include behavioural support and special needs programs as required by schools.
